We first discovered Pack-Smart in 2001.  They were recommended by a Canadian company who had a Pack-Smart Rotary Placer for feeding sachets and CDs.  At the time, some of our customers were using friction feeders for sachets and we could see the immediate benefit of the pick and place system, especially one with advanced servo technology. We arranged to visit Pack-Smart to test the placer with a wide variety of our stock and were amazed at the versatility and ease of setup. 

Pack-Smart equipment has since found a home at many customer sites and our most recent installation was for three Rotary Placers feeding keyfobs during a match-mount application.  The traditional barcode-down face up method of feeding a fob with a friction feeder leaves very little space to capture an image of the barcode for matching purposes.  Using a pick and place feeder allows a view of the entire underside of the fob, meaning that our customer can read the barcode wherever it has been printed.

 

Since we have known them, Pack-Smart have continuously developed their range of equipment.  They now offer complete systems to complement their placer technology.  Examples of this include the DAS-4 multimedia system installed at Grenville Graficom, and a windowing system at a large packaging company, specialising in personal care.
