Künnecke secure plastic card mailing systems are well known in the UK card industry. Less well known, currently, are the PIN mailing systems, passport and ID verification, sorting and packaging equipment and document and envelope inspection and sorting systems which are installed in secure plants worldwide.

Attaching and mailing systems
CASS - secure card attaching and mailing systems. There are twelve MAILok C6000 systems installed in the UK for various financial, loyalty and insurance applications for the secure match mounting of cards to carriers and subsequent (selective) inserting into envelopes. CASS systems verify the data on the card before affixing it to the personalised carrier. Post processing modules such as check weighing, franking and exit scanning enhance the basic attaching process.
The smaller CASSilo system has been designed especially for small batch handling and is proving popular with companies with daily card issuance requirements. It can run inline with a laser printer, personalising the carrier and affixing multiple cards selectively according to database information.

Sorting, Inspection, Verification, Batching, Packaging....

CISS - the Card Inspection and Sorting System has evolved into a modular card transport base for many different applications. Examples are:
- a sorting system to reorder cards from different card trays.
- a quality and inspection system to monitor quality, conformity with layouts (picture and text files) and processing errors.
- a counting system, to stack a certain amount of cards in different trays.
- a testing system, to compare and verify personalised data.
- a personalisation system, to encode and print cards with certain information.
- a sorting, batching and strapping system to create batches of cards for indirect dispatch (for example: ID cards for the citizens of one town to be collected in person from the Town Hall). |

Card manufacturing

SCS 3010 - sheet collating system. This is a semi-automatic system for sorting, positioning and fixing of all types of plastic foils which are commonly used in card production. Accurate and reliable fixing is a basic prerequisite to ensure that the individual foils maintain their precise position to one another during the lamination process and that the cards punched out of the laminated sheets fulfil stringent quality requirements.
