The easiest way to feed a sachet is using a pick and place feeder. Friction feeders can be used but have the potential to be messy if a sachet bursts in the feeder. You really don't want shampoo all over your machine. We've seen it and it's not pretty! Having said that, a thin, strong sachet with a lot of "body" can feed very well from a friction feeder. For big, bulky sachets, pick and place is the way to go!

We would recommend the Pack-Smart Rotary Placer for feeding sachets and samples. The servo-driven version can be mounted over most conveyor-based equipment. We also sell a mechanical version designed for the Datacard Ga-Vehren range of attaching machines. The four suction arms on the placer are articulated and have the ability to rotate 360°. This ensures the suction cups are in the best position to pick up the item to be placed, regardless of its shape, and then to place it onto the carrier.

In the UK, Thames Card Technology, ID Data Systems and Waddington & Ledger have pick and place feeders on their attaching systems.
